Vote for the Cause of Christ the King
DVRodriguez2024-10-27T17:21:58-04:00In this upcoming election, the choice is very clear for any faithful Catholic. Though it may be that none of the candidates are "worthy" and all have positions contrary to the Catholic Faith, one of them will clearly - by his own promises and statements - do far greater damage to the cause of Christ the King. Catholics have a serious obligation to vote in a manner which most advances the cause of God's law, of good morals, of law and order, of our holy Faith, and of the truths enshrined in Natural Law. There are only two candidates who have [...]
Fatherhood Patriotism and Voting
DVRodriguez2024-10-27T17:20:33-04:00Good fathers are always needed to lead families and nations. Many old nations have saintly men as 'founding fathers.' The word patriotism patria, Latin for [love of] one's fatherland. We certainly live in confusing times. A revolution is underway. We are not called to 'choose a lesser to two evils' for one can never choose evil. Rather, we are called to choose in favor of life and of limiting evil as much as possible. This indeed is a good we can choose. Voting done well is indeed a virtuous act of legal justice and of true patriotism. Exercising one’s right to [...]
Focus on Heavenly Not Earthly Things
DVRodriguez2023-11-06T10:34:15-05:00Especially during this month of November, we are to turn with greater fervor and faith to the Church beyond this earth. Many are the enemies of Christ; their minds and hearts are always fixed on earthly things. Stay focused on Heaven, on our Savior, and upon His Second Coming. This is one of the great purposes of Holy Mass, where the angels and saints ceaselessly praise and worship the majesty of God. We entreat God to allow our voices and prayers to be one with theirs! We can help the Poor Souls by our suffrages and by offering to God the [...]
Remain Faithful at the Foot of the Cross
DVRodriguez2021-01-26T09:24:16-05:00Come what may, we must remain faithful to Jesus Christ: to His Church, to the Sacraments, to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and to His Real Presence among us in the Holy Eucharist. No pandemic, no crisis, no human or ecclesial authority should ever separate us from the Love and Real Presence of Christ. Only He can save us! Let us persevere unto the end.
Holy Name of Jesus
DVRodriguez2024-01-02T10:33:52-05:00Biblical names are highly significant for they define a person and his mission, even making the person present. Jesus is a name that came directly from Heaven and means “God saves.” This Name has infinite power. It is a Name of gladness, hope and love with the power to forgive sins and give life. As faithful Catholics, we must always strive to grow in devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus. Blessed be the Name of Jesus; now and forever. Amen.
