Jesus Christ is King. This is a great dogma of our faith. All things are created by Him and for Him. The State has an obligation towards Him and man's laws must be subject to His Law. The only way to have peace is for all nations to submit to Christ the King. Yet many so called Christians – even in the Church – reject His kingship.  Our presidential candidates do not confess Christ's Kingship. Bishops are not defending this truth. The dramatic rise in our use of technology is severely handicapping us. Everything we consume is immediate, fleeting and has to entertain. God is not this way. Yet each day we expend much effort habituating ourselves to prompt gratification. We are looking for a God that is easily packaged. This makes it extremely difficult to be in a relationship with God. What does it mean to say Christ is King? We frequently sin against His kingship by using our time self-interestedly. Reject the kingdom of satan and the world which are opposed to His kingdom. Pray that He reign in you. Be faithful to the truth. Adore the virtues in Christ. Render to God that which is His. We were created for Christ and are to offer Him all our being.

We belong to God. Thus, we must do our very best to fulfill His holy will and our primary focus has to be on the world to come. During November, Holy Mother Church focuses us on the world to come in a more intense manner. She turns our attention to the saints and poor souls in Purgatory, reminding us that the Church is much more than those here on earth.
