The Devil Has Intensified His Constant War

2019-10-11T07:10:40-04:00

St. Augustine teaches that "Our enemies are ever on the alert to work our ruin and we are ever forgetful of our salvation." Religious are especially consecrated for this battle against the world, the flesh and the devil; yet we too must wage it continually. St. Michael aids us, for one of his principal offices is to wage incessant war against the arch fiend, satan. The devil is the father of lies and a seducer. In particular, he wishes to seduce religious and the hierarchy of the Church. He traps  men by cloaking his evil with good and leading them to think he is not [...]

Exaltation of St. Michael

2019-10-07T16:26:03-04:00

A magnificent abbey in northwestern France, Mont Saint-Michel, and numberless altars and churches are consecrated in honor of St. Michael. Why? Because St. Michael grew indignant at the outrage offered to the sovereign Lord by Lucifer and the rebellious angels. True to his very name, he exclaimed: "Who is like unto God?" How dare anyone question, much less revolt, against God's perfect plan! St. Michael’s faithfulness, good example, and humility strengthened the good angels. With him they stood, defeated the devils, and passed their test. God rewarded them by unveiling to them His very Face in the Beatific Vision. St. Michael [...]

Holy Angels in Gods Plan

2023-09-21T09:24:13-04:00

The Angels were made to give glory to God and help man attain salvation. Increase in your love and devotion for the Holy Angels by these three basic means: [1] Praise God in union with the Angels. You can even send your Guardian Angel to Mass in your place. [2] Invoke the Angels' aid and assistance. Learn what each choir excels at, so you can invoke specific aid. [3] Pray for an increase in Faith. The Angels are pure spirit (will and intellect) and so the majority of what they do is not perceived by our senses. Let us further reflect on [...]

Reverence for God and Truth

2019-10-03T07:00:20-04:00

Central to the Message of Fatima is God's will to make the Blessed Virgin Mary known and loved through devotion to her Immaculate Heart. Two very important devotions to the IHM are the First Saturday Devotion and Consecration to the IHM. This consecration is diametrically opposed to the three great sins of our time: blasphemy, heresy, and impurity. It is a marvelous way of helping the soul recover reverence for God, the truth, and purity. The one who consecrates himself to the IHM strives to keep in his heart the five dominant spiritual dispositions so proper to the Heart of Mary.

Chief Mysteries and Truths

2019-10-03T06:57:11-04:00

One of the surest ways of responding to the terrible crisis is by turning to the Blessed Virgin Mary and her Message at Fatima. This includes wearing the Brown Scapular and praying the Holy Rosary daily. At Fatima, the Queen of Heaven designated herself by the title of "Our Lady of the Rosary." There is NO problem the Rosary can't solve, including the great crisis. Pope Leo XIII called the Rosary the great weapon we need in our times. He taught that the Rosary contained the chief mysteries by which God has chosen to reveal His goodness, power, providence, wisdom and love. [...]

God Never Rejects the Contrite Sinner

2019-10-03T06:42:39-04:00

The Ember Days consecrate new seasons by prayer, penance, abstinence and fasting. They remind us that no one gets to Heaven without prayer and penance. Catholicism - and really this life on earth - is about climbing Cavalry and being crucified with Christ! Realize the road to Heaven is not for the light-hearted, while the path to hell is easy and broad. Thus, we won't survive the current 'crisis from hell' without being committed to Christ and His Way. Yet we are heartened knowing Christ came for us sinners. He never forces us but He never rejects the contrite sinner who [...]

Morality Must be Object Based

2019-10-03T06:31:51-04:00

Today, many lack a solid understanding of morality; so they make man the final judge of what is right and wrong. Man needs objectivity when it comes to morality (a guide outside of himself). Man can know Natural Law, though he may not "re-write" it, as it is built into creation. Morality applies to a human act, which has three components: object, intention, circumstances. If one of these is evil it corrupts the whole; the entire act is immoral. Thus, a good object can be made evil by bad intention or wrong circumstances, whereas an intrinsically evil object can't be made good by good intentions or [...]

The Church and The Libertarian

2019-09-22T08:04:52-04:00

Liberalism has always been condemned by the Church and today's libertarianism, gaining support among conservatives and even traditional Catholics, is still liberalism (under a modified name). Libertarian errors include a division between public and private morality, an absolute right to private property, that law is only meant to preserve personal rights, all is permitted to consenting adults, and the state may be abolished in favor of anarchy. It even degenerates into considering greed a virtue and justifying parental neglect unto infanticide. Many don't realize the field of economics was pioneered by Catholics and always considered a part of ethics, for it [...]

In the Cross of Christ God is Triumphalistic

2019-09-22T07:19:46-04:00

In the Church's history, many miraculous triumphs have been accomplished with and through the Holy Cross. We marvel at these Triumphs because they are clearly by Heaven’s intervention. The Roman Breviary is very clear that this day is about the Holy Cross triumphing. Thus, we note that it is God Himself who is 'triumphalistic' - desiring man to see what Heaven has to offer to His faithful souls! As typology helps us meditate more deeply upon God's designs, let us consider the Message of Our Lady of Fatima in light of the Exaltation of the Cross.

Nativity of Mary

2019-09-13T07:13:11-04:00

Holy Job, a grandson of Esau and a wealthy king of Edom, was blameless and upright for he feared God and shunned every sort of evil. We know of him through an ancient book authored by Moses. Job is best known for the suffering God allowed satan to inflict upon him, testing his faith and patience. He never spoke against God but did 'curse' the day he was born. In this vale of tears, many people can commiserate with him. Our Church in fact does not celebrate the natural birthdays of saints but their deaths, their birthdays into Heaven if you [...]
