Seven Petitions to the Precious Blood

2024-09-15T21:59:08-04:00

Practice devotion to the Most Precious Blood! This is outstanding way to participate in Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Spend fifteen or twenty minutes – or more – praying thus: Precious Blood of Jesus, I adore Thee (or I thank Thee or Have mercy on me or make any specific intention such as Wash over me or Heal me). . Pray in particular for the Precious Blood to forgive and free you from any serious sin - one that has a strong hold on you. Seven petitions in particular, linked to Our Lord's seven blood sheddings, cover the entire range of the [...]

What Does It Mean to Be Merciful

2024-08-29T17:54:41-04:00

God shows His power most by being merciful. Yet this is terribly misunderstood. Mercy means we see someone who is suffering and are moved to act! Mercy means replacing an evil with a good and thereby alleviating the suffering. We find this mercy in the Sacrament of Penance. Too often Catholics lose respect and honor for the sacrament; then one fails to receive all the available graces. Review how to make a good confession. See the greatness of what God is giving us. The examples of Saints Mary Magdalene. Zacheus, and Dismas will help enliven our souls with true contrition.

The Devil at Work in the Church

2024-08-28T19:56:11-04:00

Breaking with all Tradition, Scripture, Natural Law, and God's Authority, Francis has allowed the "blessing" of couples engaged in unnatural vice. This confusion is dividing the Church and shaking the faith of many. It is a terrible abuse. Two great problems we suffer under today are the abuse by fathers - including spiritual fathers - and a misunderstanding of marriage. Yet it is not hard for us to know the truth. We simply rely on what the Church has always and everywhere taught to all (universality, antiquity and consensus). As the Church endures this terrible passion, remain close to Our Blessed [...]

The Saints and the Precious Blood

2024-08-25T16:18:11-04:00

May the saints who had a a great devotion to the Precious Blood be our guides in participating more fruitfully at Holy Mass. They help us believe in – and focus our attention upon – Our Lord's great mysteries. Saints Mechtilde, Mary Magdalene de Pazzi, Margaret Mary Alacoque, John Vianney and St. Dominic are but a few examples. At Mass, Our Lord presents His wounds to His Heavenly Father. Upon seeing them, the Father forgives us. We too should look upon His wounds, for it will move us to repent of our sins. His Precious Blood shall move us to confidence [...]

Our Lady of the Assumption, Ora Pro Nobis!

2024-08-13T10:07:07-04:00

From the sermon given on the Feast of the Assumption - August 15, 2019 We acknowledge thee and we venerate thee, Most Holy Virgin, Queen of Heaven, Lady and Mistress of the Universe, as Daughter of the Eternal Father, Mother of His well-beloved Son, and most loving Spouse of the Holy Ghost. We rejoice at thy glorious Assumption into Heaven; and now that thou art enthroned as Queen of Heaven and earth, forget us not, thy poor servants. From Heaven thou seest more plainly our miseries; hence thou must compassionate and succor us the more. Make us thy faithful servants on [...]

Leper and Centurion

2024-08-13T10:03:20-04:00

Given how Our Lord delivered the Sermon on the Mount, He was asserting His divinity. His miracles provide abundant proof. Our Lord's healing of physical leprosy points to spiritual truth. Leprosy not only caused physical and psychological suffering, but inflicted social and religious pain. The centurion's faith prompts Our Lord to utter a wonderful prophecy and a chilling warning (it is the first of many times that Jesus speaks of hell). The Leper and Centurion share similarities and teach valuable lessons. God wills to make us whole. Christ speaks and His word is fulfilled. Both Jew and Gentile are brought into [...]

Saint Longinus

2024-09-08T21:31:02-04:00

St. Longinus was present both at the crucifixion and the resurrection. He was miraculously healed and instructed by the Apostles. Refusing to worship demons, he was tortured and martyred. Yet he preserved relics of the Precious Blood for all generations. We have access to the Precious Blood at Mass; but we must exercise Faith. The Sacraments are like seven channels by which the salvific stream of the Precious Blood flows to mankind. At every Mass, the shedding of His Blood blood is repeated in a manner imperceptible to our senses. How ardently do you believe –and live– this great truth?

Key to Cracking Our Hardened Souls

2024-08-12T21:34:08-04:00

Jesus weeps over Jerusalem. Despite so many chance, God's people reject Him. They devised a religion centered upon man. Yet we are no different. We should expect the situation we are in today because we have turned our back on God. If the first Four Commandments are not being practiced by Catholics, how can we expect anything to change? We must first place God at the center of our lives. Society and the nation will follow. Imitate Our Lady. She pondered God's deeds in silence, practiced fidelity in small things, and was constant in prayer.

O Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart of Mary

2024-08-08T14:09:05-04:00

From the sermon given on August 4, 2024 - 11th Sunday after Pentecost. O Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart of Mary, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King. Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully. O Heart of Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, Heart worthy of the veneration and love of all the Angels and of all men, be thou the way [...]
