Epiphany is truly a feast of the Nativity of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. The Three Kings are central to Christmas. They teach us that every single person (ALL!) is called to know, love, serve and adore Jesus Christ. And we are to do this with our entire being.
Epiphany is one of the five holiest days of the year, yet nearly everyone has 'moved past' Christmas. You must think and act like Catholics. The feasts of Church should shape your mindset. Know that the purpose of your marriage and family is to lead people to Christ, to inspire a greater love for Him – find great joy in this! The light that guides the Three Kings also represents faith. They are men of great obedience and faith who follow the light from God. Catholic, do the same!
Epiphany continues the great Mystery of Christmas. Angels announced the Birth of Christ to shepherds; now God Himself announces His Son to the whole world. This feast is a great manifestation of Christ’s divinity and glory. This is a special time when Holy Mother Church calls us all to contemplate both the mystical significance of the Three Kings’ gifts and the true meaning of Christmas.
To some degree or another, your family is weighed down by the darkness of sin. This is the greatest problem in our marriages and family. Christ is the light we so much need. Let us draw grace from the light of Christmas, Epiphany, and the Holy Family. In this centenary year of Our Lady of Fatima, note how she too brings the light needed by our families to convert. In a letter to Cardinal Cafara, Sr. Lucia wrote: “The final battle between the Lord and the reign of Satan will be about marriage and the family… this is the decisive issue.” [...]
