The Magi were guided by a star with represents truth and symbolizes Heaven. They brought gifts to adore the Lord. The most acceptable gift we can offer is a contrite and loving heart. Jesus calls us to conversion; to become like Him. How narrow is the gate that leads to life and few there are that find it. We must be guided by the desire to reach Heaven. We should also reflect upon the reality of hell. The soul that seriously considers hell will be moved to conversion and be saved.

Reflect upon Death and Hell

In all your works, remember your last end, and you will never sin. Frequently prepare yourself spiritually for death. Advent is a good time for this. Pray Psalm 50 (Miserere) and Psalm 129 (De Profundis). When dangerously sick, you must be well trained to make an immediate and proper preparation for death. It is extremely important for you to reflect upon hell. We shall see Christ Our King and Judge coming on the clouds with power and majesty – Be prepared!

Truth and Judgment

Sermon given to Novus Ordo Catholics prior to the Rosary for Marcelo García, a baptized baby who passed away. Jesus Christ is the Truth and He teaches the truth. How? He teaches us through His Church. We have to live according to this Truth, and God will judge us accordingly upon our death. We have a great crisis today in the Church because we have strayed from the Truth. Just one example: consider the Catholic doctrine on hell.
