If imitation of divinity leads to a virtuous character, then it is not attainable in paganism. This is because the gods (idols) of the pagans are demons. Vice reigns supreme in all pagan deities, who freely deceive men and break their promises. The true God is not so! He makes promises and infallibly keeps them. Likewise, His Mother and all His saints are trustworthy. We have received great promises in the devotions of Nine First Fridays, the Brown Scapular, and the Five First Saturdays. As it is the month of October, we do well to reflect up on the Fifteen Promises our Lady associated with the devout and faithful prayer of the Holy Rosary.
