'O happy Rome, whom the most glorious blood [of St. Peter and St. Paul] forever consecrate while ages flow.' Relying on (1) Pope Pius XI's Act of Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart, (2) the historical account of Titus destroying Jerusalem in 70 AD, and (3) scripture and tradition regarding Ss. Peter and Paul, Father explains how the New Covenant God establishes with His Church - which is Roman Catholic - superscedes the Old Covenant with the Jews. Thus, all Catholics must be 'Roman.' For example, I learned that Catholics first began using the adjective Roman Catholic during the Arian Crisis, to distinguish themselves from the Eastern Catholic Bishops who had nearly ALL succumbed to the Arian heresy, denying the divinity of Christ. Being 'Roman' can almost be considered as a fifth mark of the Church, along with One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic.
