Our Lady Co-Redemptrix by Her Maternity View description ▼ All the elect are called to cooperate with Our Lord in His work of the redemption of the world. Seriously take this to heart, because it is the purpose of your life. You are supposed to be cooperating with Our Lord in the salvation of the world, first your own salvation and then the salvation of those God places in your life. Our Lady has three distinct rights to the title Co-Redemptrix. In the same sense as the elect, but to a decree which no others approach, Mary cooperated in the salvation of all. Then, in a manner which no other creature could or did, Mary's maternal cooperation was indispensable to the redemption of the world. Furthermore, God willed for her dolors to form an integral part of Our Lord's Sacrifice. Excepting the abandonment of His Father, the sorrows in Our Lady’s heart were the most painful element in Our Lord’s passion. Thus, Mary's compassion increased Jesus's suffering, making it more powerful, holy, and pleasing to God.   September 28, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Our Lady's Heart Serves as Our Model View description ▼ Many prayers used by the Church at Holy Mass come from the Psalms. These reveal to us the heart of prayer and the Heart of Mary (e.g. today’s Offertory from Ps 30). Having true devotion to the Immaculate Heart means striving to model our heart after Mary’s. Seek to receive Holy Communion with her heart. Seek to pray with the dispositions of her heart. Seek to fulfill your daily duty with her mindset. Above all, accept trails and difficulties with the spirit of Our Lady. September 7, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Our Lady Co-Redemptrix By Her Greatness View description ▼ Know five principles that help us understand Christ’s work of redemption, our own role in salvation, and the absolutely unique role of Our Lady as Co-redemptrix. Jesus is the sole Redeemer. Yet all the elect cooperate with Him in this work. We do this in a secondary dependent sense and by participation in Christ. The more holiness you acquire, the more you can help others. There is nothing greater you can do for someone than to cooperate in their salvation. Our Lady’s role is far greater than all the angels and saints combined and qualitatively different from how we “fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ.” (Col 1:24). Three Miraculous Marian Images View description ▼ To help you be more devoted to the image of the Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart of Mary, consider these three miraculous images. Our Lady of Montallegro in Ramalla Italy (1557) was brought by angels from Greece. Carmelite monks in Vilnius, Lithuania built a chapel to honor Our Lady at the Gate of the Dawn. And Mary promised a particular grace of devotion to all who venerated her image of Our Lady of Confidence, especially with the aspiration ‘My Mother, my confidence.” Our Lady will continue to work great miracles through those images which she chooses. After all, as St. John Eudes teaches, Jesus Himself teaches devotion to the Immaculate Heart of His most holy Mother. August 31, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Our Lady Co-Redemptrix By Her Dolors View description ▼ Our Lord is the sole redeemer of the world. We are each called to cooperate in His Redemption. Mary participates in the redemption as we do, but to a much greater degree. Moreover, she then also cooperates uniquely in Christ's redemptive work via her divine maternity and her sorrows. It is by His passion and death that Christ saves us. Our Lady's compassion with Christ had the same character of sacrifice and expiation as Our Lord's passion. In fact, God willed that Our Lady's sorrows form an integral part of Christ's saving passion. October 5, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Good Priests Are Being Persecuted View description ▼ On account of their fidelity to Christ, good priests are being persecuted by those who wield ecclesial authority over them! This is happening throughout the entire Church. The canonical processes which are intended to uphold truth and justice have become blatantly corrupt. Some of the very worst pastors are being placed into high positions of power. It is imperative that we pray for the Church. Pray for the conversion of the hierarchy. And support your faithful priests! An extremely powerful prayer is the Rosary, but we must use it well. While the Rosary consists of both meditative and vocal prayer, it is the mental prayer which we so often neglect. As we pray, we are to contemplate the virtues and chief mysteries of the life, death, and glory of Jesus Christ and His most Holy Mother. October 19, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Blasphemous Philosophy of Liberalism View description ▼ The philosophy of liberalism has infected our minds and our hearts. We must fight against this heresy with all our strength. In brief, liberalism is the error that man (as an individual or as a society) has the right to decide the norms by which he will regulate his life, that he is the arbiter of right and wrong, or that he may think and believe whatsoever he wills. The truth is that ALL things - visible and invisible – were created in Christ, by Christ, and for Christ (Col 1:16). Everything without exception must be subject to Christ and serve Him. Yet the world has set itself completely against Christ’s Kingship. Tragically, it is also a truth from which the current Church authorities have deviated. This betrayal is worse than that of Judas; it breaks the hearts of faithful Catholics. October 26, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Saint Joachim View description ▼ Saint Joachim is the patron of fathers, grandparents and married couples. His name means “Preparation for the Lord.” The glory and intercessory power that St. Joachim has are proportioned to the merit and dignity of being the Father of Mary and grandfather of Jesus. In fact, the more grace a soul possesses, the more powerful are its prayers. (Our prayers are often weakly effective for we lack grace.) The grace which a soul possesses at the moment of death is the grace it will have for all eternity. Rightly then is Our Lady called the Mightiest Helper of the Christian people. Called to Be Especially Devoted to the Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart View description ▼ Our Lady’s Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart has loved God more purely and ardently than all the holy hearts of angels and saints combined. God used the blood in her heart to create the human nature of His Son. Christ depended upon His Mother’s Heart for His existence. Mary’s heart preserves and glorifies the marvelous mysteries of Her Son’s life, passion, death and resurrection. This is in fact the very mission of the Church. It is also an aim of the Rosary. We all need conversion and Mary’s heart serves as a marvelous ‘road map’ in this necessary work. Being devoted to Her Immaculate Heart certainly involves prayer, but also that we strive to live according to the five principal sentiments of her heart. August 24, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
More Spiritual Lessons from the Assumption View description ▼ The Mystery of Mary’s Assumption provides valuable lessons. It shows the centrality of Christ and how Mary is the path to Christ. Since Our Lady shared in Jesus’ sufferings in a completely unique way, so she too shares in His glory in a completely unique way. Yet there is great glory for ALL who carry their cross faithfully. Imitating Our Lady, we are to persevere in God’s grace and keep our focus always on Heaven. May this mystery also inspire us to seek God’s will above our own in all things, especially as regards sickness and death. Our Lady willingly denied her desires for the happiness and consolation of the Church on earth. The Church is currently suffering great devastation; what efforts do I make to further the good of the Church? August 10, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Our Lady of Perpetual Help View description ▼ Tradition holds that four famous portraits of the Virgin and Child were painted by St. Luke the Evangelist. One of these is the icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, located today in the Church of St. Alphonsus in Rome. The order St. Alphonsus founded, the Redemptorists, have done much to promote this devotion after it was already greatly venerated in the East. St. Luke painted it on a table top crafted by Our Lord. The image was blessed by Our Lady, and she promised: “My grace will accompany it.” In this icon, Mary directs us to her Son. The Child contemplates His future passion, as the archangels present the instruments of His torture. Nevertheless, the icon conveys Christ’s triumph over sin and death. May we grow in devotion to Our Lady under this title. August 3, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
The Prayer of St. Anne View description ▼ “By their fruits you shall know them.” Let us apply our Lord’s words to St. Anne. She is Our Lord's grandmother and Our Lady's mother. St. Anne is a patroness for many, although her intercession is particularly focused on the family. She excelled in charity for the poor and love of God. She fervently prayed for a husband who would help her live according to the divine law. She and St. Joachim bore very heavy crosses with faith and humility. In fact, her deeds and prayers and deeds serve as a powerful example and inspiration. May we each grow in our desire to be devoted to her. July 27, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Look Upon Me View description ▼ The devotion of all devotions is love of Jesus Christ and meditating upon the love He bears us. The saints mastered this devotion because they meditated upon Our Lord’s Passion. For example, consider St. Bridget of Sweden and St. Veronica Giuliani. They teach that nothing helps us hate sin more – and love Jesus above all things – than looking upon Him covered in blood and wounds for our sake. Jesus’ sacrifice and His Precious Blood are present to us at Holy Mass. Adore, thank, and pray to the Precious Blood for it has infinite power to sanctify, expiate, protect, and intercede. Two questions to ask yourself: How often during Mass do I look upon Jesus Who is truly present? What have I suffered out of love for Jesus? July 13, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Secret of Matrimonial Poison or Happiness View description ▼ We ask God to grant us an increase in religion; that we recognize His infinite majesty and our own nothingness. The natural fruit of religion is sacrifice. Today we apply this prayer to marriage. In marriage, God calls us to renounce ourselves (our senses, passions, will, judgment) for the good of our spouse and children. If you are not sacrificing in your marriage, how can you sacrifice to God? Self will spoils and corrupts marriage. Spouses must crucify the ‘old self’ and be motivated by the desire to do God’s will. Receive with Greater Devotion View description ▼ The reason why souls make so little progress in virtue and remain in the same defects, even frequently lapsing into previous sins, is because they take little care (and are not sufficiently admonished) to acquire the love of Christ. The devotion of all devotions is love for Jesus. Yet, our faith remains weak. We are always looking for signs, for God to do what we want. Yet if we but believed and loved –like the saints– we would see the Greatest Sign is right there before us! July 6, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Two Great Witnesses View description ▼ The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of divine Love and Truth. Two of His greatest witnesses are St. Peter and St. Paul. The Church brings God’s Love and Truth to the world, especially through the Mass. The Mass presents the true faith, love, devotion and reverence with which man is to worship God. We show our love for Christ by spreading His truth to the ends of the world and always remaining faithful to the Mass. He who remains faithful to God’s truth and true worship will be persecuted. May the holy Apostles help us be willing to suffer for Christ. June 29, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Perpetual Infinite Love View description ▼ In the Blessed Sacrament, Christ is present whole and entire: all His humanity and all His divinity under the appearance of bread and wine. Truly this is a remarkable Mystery. And it illustrates the weakness of Eucharistic Faith in three groups of believers. Can you say there is nothing more important in your life? Do you receive Him frequently? Do you receive Him as worthily as you can? Strive to receive Holy Communion with faith, purity, and deep devotion. June 22, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
If Only We Knew How Much He Loves Us View description ▼ The infinite love of God is the foundation of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The love of the most Holy Trinity overflowed into Jesus’ adorable Heart and led him to shed His blood for our salvation. His Heart made the crib, the cross, and the altar; three great signs of His infinite love. His Heart formed the Church, established the Sacraments, sent the Holy Ghost, and gave us Mary for our Mother. Devotion to the Sacred Heart is for everyone! June 27, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Every Aspect of the Faith Points to the Holy Trinity View description ▼ God is all powerful, all wise, and all good [love]. God is One in three divine Persons: the Holy Trinity. This is life’s central mystery. It has implications for how we live. Man exists to give glory and honor to each Person of the Trinity. The family is called to reflect the Blessed Trinity. The Holy Family makes this Mystery concrete and is a perfect reflection of the Blessed Trinity. June 15, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez
Christ's Suffering and Christ's Love View description ▼ There is nothing more conducive to the glory of God and sanctification of one’s soul than to think every day on the pains that Christ suffered for love of us. This is what Catholicism is. In these two mysteries –suffering & love– we learn the great truths about life. The Mass is our perpetual remembrance of them; at every moment it is being offered somewhere in the world. Yet the Mass is also a perpetual presence of His cross and death, from which we all can draw life, strength and grace. The more we do so, the more we reject sin and grow in union with God. Pray to Our Sorrowful Mother that, by her merits, she obtain these gifts for us. April 13, 2025 by Fr. Michael Rodríguez

Noise and Silence of Advent View description ▼ It is the first day of the new [liturgical] year and time for a fresh start – to put things in the right order. We commemorate Christ’s coming in the flesh and prepare for when He will come again. So we must “look up” with our minds. We often fail to do this on account of the noise all around us: from the world which we can’t avoid, from technology that is self-inflicted, and from our own lips. Strive to have a spirit of silence this Advent that you may hear and love God more than you did the past year. November 30, 2025 by Fr. Iakobus
The Sweet Yoke of Christ View description ▼ All nations are to be bought under the sweet yoke of Christ’s rule. Christ must first reign in our souls. Then He can use us to transform souls and extend His kingdom to others. But have we been infected by the spirit of the world? Do we think the Catholic life is too difficult, that we can’t live as the Church calls us to or as our ancestors did? This is simply not true. Christ is King and He remains so for all eternity. His power extends over everything. We have to know Him and His truth. Be confident that Christ is our loving King and He will give us the grace to be faithful. October 26, 2025 by Fr. Iakobus
Bear One Another's Burdens View description ▼ Faith has to show forth in actions. Exercise charity by bearing one another’s burdens, especially those in our household [of faith]. This is our duty and it is also very fatiguing. Prudently give others the benefit of the doubt. Wisely know when to bear a wrong in silence. This is more challenging when we have the same defect, as seeing it another pricks our conscience. It is also harder when dealing with those who are close to us and whom we love. But carrying a heavier cross brings greater graces. Let us not tire in doing good. May those who encounter Christ in us come to new life, like the dead son of the Widow of Naim. Mercy or Justice View description ▼ There is always a tension between mercy and justice because they are irreconcilable. Only a Divine Person can bring them into balance. The enemies of Christ laid a double trap for Our Lord by bringing before Him a woman caught in adultery. Jesus writing on the ground connects this event to the apostasy of the Golden Calf. With a wisdom greater than Solomon He administers justice and mercy perfectly. None of us can make up for even the slightest sin because our offense is against Infinite Majesty. However Jesus’ life is of infinite value so His death can satisfy divine justice. Yet God will not be mocked. If we do not repent of our sin then we shall receive His justice instead of His mercy. Will You Reject God's Invitation View description ▼ Have you ever wondered why Our Lord told a parable where a king has a wedding guest bound and cast into the exterior darkness for simply failing to have proper attire? Father explains this parable (Matthew 22:1-14), noting that the Church is signified by the wedding feast. Clearly, it is not sufficient to simply be a member of the Church. Now those who preferred worldliness –or killed the messengers– are the Jews, and their city is destroyed (70 AD). Their fall opened the Church to the Gentiles, bad and good alike. In baptism, the soul “puts on Christ,” I.e. Jesus’ mind, heart, and actions. This parable eloquently speaks of God’s mercy and justice. God calls us to eternal life but He does not compel us. Avarice of the Pharisees View description ▼ In his gospel, St Luke often focuses on the sicknesses that afflict men. The various physical ailments also represent spiritual illnesses. For example, a withered hand represents the inability to persevere in good works, leprosy stands for heresy, and dropsy (edema) for avarice. The pharisees were watching Our Lord, trying to trap him. These pharisees would violate the sabbath to save their beast, not out of compassion or fidelity to the law, but on account of their avarice. (In the question Jesus poses, the ox represents the Jews and the donkey the Gentiles.) Their avarice reflects their pride. Hence, Our Lord teaches “Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” September 28, 2025 by Fr. Linus Clovis

Man Needs Spiritual not Ecological Conversion View description ▼ Environmentalism presents a new false spirituality and religion. It claims all need an ’ecological conversion and seems to be the religion of choice for urban atheists. In truth, this is simply a repackaging of pantheism and leads to apostasy. Only Catholic spirituality is authentic, supernatural and salvific. All other spiritualities are either natural or from a demonic influence. Advent represents the first stage in Catholic spirituality and true conversion – it is the purgative state. December 6, 2015 by Fr. Simplicius
The Doctrine of Predestination View description ▼ God by the eternal resolve of His will has predetermined certain men to eternal blessedness. The number of the elect is predetermined and can not change (none added, none taken away). While God wills all men to be saved, not all men are saved. This is based not on God's providence but on a man's sin and lack of contrition. The heresy of "double predestination" holds that men are like brute beasts with God leading some to salvation and others to damnation by His (predetermined) divine will. For men how are saved, it is a gift from God; from men who are damned, it is their own fault. November 26, 2023 by Fr. Simplicius
Great Pearl and Irrelevance of Novelty View description ▼ False religions deny Christ and thus have the spirit of anitchrist. Modern Jews are defined by their rejection of Christ. Protestants identify themselves by their denial of the Church. This same pattern, of finding one's identity by denial or rejection, is found in the novus ordo liturgy. Many of its advocates harbor a virulent animus against Tradition, wishing to sentence the traditional liturgy to death.  Revolutionaries long for the complete destruction of the old order, otherwise their revolution can't fully succeed. Traditional Catholics should not fall prey to identification by being against the new order for they have the most beautiful thing this side of Heaven. Why waste time and energy focusing on the irrelevance of passing novelties when one has the Pearl of Great Price. November 12, 2023 by Fr. Simplicius

The Conscience of Man View description ▼ God gave man a connection to Him - an interior voice, a conscience. St. John the Baptist is a symbol of that voice. We can chose to heed or suppress our conscience; yet, man only finds peace when he listens to it. The conscience is a proof of the soul's immortality. It witnesses, bonds and incites; it also accuses, torments, and rebukes. It incites a holy anger (hatred) against sin, so that man roots out faults instead of justifying them. Make friends with your adversary (conscience) before you are handed over to the Judge. December 17, 2023 by Fr. Ioannes Petrus
Thou Shall Not Make a False Peace View description ▼ Why is the Synod discussing so many un-Catholic things? Why is the Latin Mass being suppressed? Why is Russia once again at war? We must seek the cause. And we shall find an all encompassing answer to these problems. Christ's truth requires that man first conquer in the interior life; then he can conquer on the outside. Yet modern man has sought new avenues according to his own wisdom. He seeks an easy way apart from the cross. He chooses compromise with the world to accomplish only an external peace. Yet false peace brings perpetual war. As we ignore Our Lady of Fatima, the errors of Russia proliferate within the Church. We need instead devotion to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart. November 12, 2023 by Fr. Ioannes Petrus
Prisoners of War and Purgatory View description ▼ The saints see the connectivity of all history by typology. Yet this connectivity extends even beyond the confines of this world. A type for the poor souls in Purgatory can be noted in the true story of Robert Trimble. He was an American Air Force captain striving to rescue prisoners of war in WW2. Our hearts should be moved to do all we can to help the holy souls arrive at their heavenly homeland. November 2, 2023 by Fr. Ioannes Petrus

Hope and Daring View description ▼ When you rise and when yo go to bed, ask yourself these two questions: [1] What drives you or fuels your desire? [2] What are you afraid of? We often know what we have to do but fail to do it because of something we fear. What keeps us from giving ourselves to God, and neighbor, as we are meant to do? During Advent, the Church calls to mind the example of St. John the Baptist and the Immaculate Conception. Saints change the world because they do what what others dare not. They achieve great virtue by their hope (the virtue that is born by the desire for difficult but possible things). December 17, 2023 by Fr. Iacomus Paulus
Mystery is Essential to Christmas View description ▼ Christ subverts the expectations of the worldly. Yet we are still in love with the things of this world – and our vice – because we have yet to see the true worth in tossing them aside. Christ changes the way we value things. The element of mystery, which surrounds Christmas, compels us to acts of greater virtue. (Note: Father's considerations of the Holy Family in Bethlehem touch upon matters not defined by Scripture or Tradition. Faithful Catholics are free to disagree on such details.) December 3, 2023 by Fr. Iacomus Paulus
Be a Master of Your Craft View description ▼ Here are three means to progress and excel in the spiritual life. [1] An ability to identify defects. We usually don't want to hear any critique of ourselves. Yet seeing our [minor] defects, which aren't easy to self detect, is the only way to make progress. [2] Humility in the spirit of collaboration. Every criticism has an element of truth, so be hungry for criticism (not paranoid or angry). [3] Love what you do and study your craft. Be obsessed with being Catholic. If you love your state in life, then at every moment you will try to learn how to be better at what you do. November 12, 2023 by Fr. Iacomus Paulus

Living Through The Crisis 1 - Faith View description ▼ A divine chastisement is imminent. Our Lady has already warned us at Fatima and Akita. Very few Catholics, even in traditional circles, are spiritually prepared for what is coming. This series explores the virtues most needed to survive the coming years. Each one of us needs to be working on this now, while we still have the time. The first talk centers on the supernatural virtue of Faith. by Fr. Chad Ripperger

Smoke of satan infiltrating via his synagogue View description ▼ This long episode recaps many points raised earlier and sets up the conclusion to this HN series. The smoke of satan has entered the Church via his synagogue. The Jews, in their turn, have used freemasonry, with the fabricated holocaust narrative as weapon to becloud the thinking of many. Basta!
