This is a feast of Jesus Christ manifesting His divinity. The three kings represent all the Gentile nations. At His Baptism, He makes His divinity known to the Jews. And with His first miracle, at the Wedding of Cana, He manifests His divinity to His disciples. The kings from the East received a vision of a star, a cross, and a Child. They brought gifts to honor Christ as king (gold), as God (frankincense), and as a man who would die (myrrh). They exhibited true obedience, both by leaving everything behind and by disobeying the authority of Herod which would have wrought evil. These three great saints were later baptized by St. Thomas and became bishops in their lands.
