The natural fruit of religion is sacrifice. Today we apply this prayer to marriage. In marriage, God calls us to renounce ourselves (our senses, passions, will, judgment) for the good of our spouse and children. If you are not sacrificing in your marriage, how can you sacrifice to God? Self will spoils and corrupts marriage. Spouses must crucify the ‘old self’ and be motivated by the desire to do God’s will. Receive with Greater Devotion View description ▼ The reason why souls make so little progress in virtue and remain in the same defects, even frequently lapsing into previous sins, is because they take little care (and are not sufficiently admonished) to acquire the love of Christ. The devotion of all devotions is love for Jesus. Yet, our faith remains weak. We are always looking for signs, for God to do what we want. The Mammon of Iniquity View description ▼ Our Lord praises the unjust steward’s shrewdness: he saw himself as he is and did what it took to survive. All created goods (mammon) are given to us by God to be used moderately and prudently. In this way we are “friends” to them and they help us reach God. But when we misuse them they turn to evil (iniquity). What created things are you misusing? Some common ones are technology, alcohol, debt, friends, and clothing. The devil never ceases to attack and tempt us. We should expect this. After baptism we must pass through wilderness to be tempted until we reach our blessed home. Mary is the Ark of the Covenant View description ▼ More people know about the Ark of the Covenant from the movie Raiders of the Lost Ark rather than from Sacred Scripture. In truth, the Ark was a sign of God's power, presence, and providence. It served as a throne for God and contained proofs of God's covenant with His people. The Ark was constructed from incorruptible wood and plated with precious gold. In short, it was made according to a perfect design revealed by God. The Ark was hidden by the Prophet Jeremiah on Mount Nebo (2 Machabees 2:4-8). Yet the True Ark is Our Blessed Mother, and some Protestants have attributed their conversion to this profound mystery.

O my Lord God, my Savior and my Redeemer, take away all my sins and destroy in me everything displeasing to Thee; pour from Thy Heart into mine whatever will please Thee most.  Wholly convert me and take full possession of everything within me, to use it according to Thy good pleasure and for Thine own sake.  Unite my heart with Thine, my will with Thy will, so that I may never will and may never be able to will anything or in any other way than Thou willest and what Thou willest.  O Sweet Jesus, O my God, let me love Thee with all my heart, in all things and above all things.

Heart of Jesus, burning with love of us, inflame our hearts with love of Thee.
O sweetest Heart of Jesus, I implore that I may ever love Thee more and more.
