Regina Caeli
An ancient Easter Prayer and Hymn - heard at the start of the sermon The Crucified One is Risen.
O Queen of Heaven. Rejoice, alleluia.
For He whom thou wast worthy to bear, alleluia, has risen.
As He said, alleluia. Pray for us to God. Alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, o Virgin Mary. Alleluia.
For the Lord is truly risen. Alleluia.
Let us pray, O God, who by the resurrection of Thy Son,
our Lord Jesus Christ, hast been pleased to give joy to
the whole world, grant, we beseech thee, that through
the intercession of the blessed Virgin Mary, His mother,
we may attain the joys of eternal life through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
A spiritual communion can be offered any time during the day. A person can also make numerous such acts throughout the day. The grace which one receives though this act is dependent upon the sate of one's soul, as well as one's fervor, purity of heart and sanctity.
There is no one single prayer by which one can offer a spiritual communion. Many variations exist. This one is based on a popular prayer by St. Alphonsus Liguori and augmented by Fr. Rodríguez with passages from Scripture and insights from St. John Eudes and St. Louis de Montfort.
