Sermons by Fr. Rodríguez in English

When the Light Dims

Christ has given us remote and proximate sings of His Second Coming. These same signs are mirrored, to a lesser degree, at His Crucifixion and even at our own personal death. They include the dimming of light, tribulation, confusion and destruction. The Church lives in the last age (this generation); only complete destruction follows. Death is inevitable because this world is fallen. When our death comes, we need exhortations to let go of all worldly goods and cling only to Jesus and Mary. Hearken to these names often to build-up a powerful habit, because when the mind grows dim it may have room for but one thought. He who has not God loses everything he thinks he has; yet, he who loses everything but God, at death gains everything perfectly in God.
