Divine Spirit vs diabolical spirit

While in prison, St John the Baptist sends his disciples to Christ because they’re in the midst of a spiritual battle. This spiritual battle is even now raging within the Church with many being misled regarding our Savior. Those who speak the truth are often imprisoned, sidelined, or talked about with people taking sides. Let us consider various indicators which help us determine whether something comes from the Divine Spirit of God, exemplified by the St. John, or the evil spirit, as we see to some extent in his stubborn disciples. In difficulties, we do well to turn to Our Lady and to remember St. Augustine’s maxim, “In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, and in all things charity.”
