Holy Things Lost and Recovered

Sometimes God allows beautiful and sacred things to be lost, or even stolen, for a time. Note the phrase: for a time. Amazingly, contrary to all expectation, they are then recovered to the glory of God and the wonder of men! It is always most wondrous to behold, but it always costs something - it involves a great deal of suffering. Christendom is a precious, sacred and desirable thing which our world has lost. All nations should be united under Christ, recognizing Him as their one true King and Head, with the Pope as His Vicar on Earth. In Christendom, everyone related all aspects of their daily life to God and everything they did had some connection to the faith. Yet Russia has spread her errors and the State has risen up to dominate the Church nearly everywhere. Even the papacy is all but lost. We have forgotten God. Christendom seems to be no more! But take hope from the divine pattern: after great suffering God will miraculously restore it - and it shall be glorious!
