Lifeline and Weapon in Dark Times

THE HOLY ROSARY - PART 1 of 2
Sacred Scripture informs us that the antichrist will come towards the end of time. From St. Paul’s teaching, we know a power still restrains him. Devotion to Our Lady and the Rosary is a most powerful means to restrain evil and lead souls to salvation. The Holy Rosary brings countless graces and is the perfect prayer for human beings who have bodies and souls. It has the power to lift up, convert, and bring life, but against others it restrains, chains and scourges. Our Lady gave St. Dominic the Rosary to restrain the enemy and defeat heresy (in his day, it was the Albigensian heresy that promoted a culture of death). The Rosary has often halted and repelled Mohammadean invasions. For the past two-hundred years, Heaven’s consistent message to mankind has been a call to prayer, penance, and reparation or face terrible divine chastisements.

Path to Victory

THE HOLY ROSARY - PART 2 of 2
These are very dark times - it is the devil’s hour. We know that God will triumph, but how are we to survive this very difficult time? Bl. Anna Maria Taigi, a 19th century mystic, advised that the Rosary would help us through the Three Days of Darkness. St. Louis de Montfort prophesied that apostles of Our Lady would crush the devil in the last days. It is the Holy Rosary that will triumph over all God’s enemies and usher an age of peace, a universal restoration of Christian order, a flourishing of the Church, and the reign of Christ the King and of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. If you say the rosary devoutly every day until death, you will not go to hell! The life of Bl. Bartolo Longo (1841-1926) illustrates this truth. He was an Italian attorney turned satanist who returned to the Faith though the Rosary. Heart of Jesus, may Thy kingdom come, and may it come through Mary!

Marys Holy Habit

THE BROWN SCAPULAR - PART 1 of 2
Consider Sr. Jeanine Deckers, popularly known as Sister Smile, who forsook her garment of salvation and rejected her habit. On the other hand, the great Carmelite St. Simon Stock, received the brown scapular, a garment of salvation, from the very hands of Our Lady on 16 July 1251. The Scapular calls us to a make a decision; to take a stand. We see this in the history of the Prophet Elias at Mount Carmel when he called on God’s people to choose God (life) or Baal (death). True Love is a choice. The Brown Scapular is a powerful public sign that Our Lady has chosen (elected) the wearer and the wearer has chosen Our Lady (consecrated). The Brown Scapular is her garment, her relic, her holy habit. May we never forget that devotion to Mary is necessary for salvation.

Garment of Salvation

THE BROWN SCAPULAR - PART 2 of 2
When we wear Mary’s habit, we offer Mary two things. (1) Public Honor: for we publically witness our consecration to her, solemnly receive it at the altar rail from the hands of the priest, and promise to wear it always. (2) Habitual Honor: it is continual and never stops. One can never honor our Lady enough! In return, Our Lady guarantees us two things. (1) She will protect us from danger, from temptations, and attacks of the devil. (2) She will provide us with the grace of a good death (true contrition and the sacraments). She even promises to help us after death! Mary will never fail to help us. This is why the Scapular, used correctly, is a guarantee of salvation. Father concludes by touching on the controversial topic of the Sabbatine Privilege.
